Becca Schillaci - Birth Doula

As your birth doula, I provide the informational, physical and emotional support that helps you to go confidently into parenthood through an empowered pregnancy, labor, and birth.

My Doula Work with You

I am a peaceful, thoughtful, and joyful person who will support you in your birth without judgement. During our prenatal visits I will get to know you and your vision for your birth. We will talk about what you want and what you want to avoid on your birth day. I will share resources, comfort techniques, and knowledge of the process of birth. Our conversations will allow you to explore your feelings about this birth and life with baby and learn evidence-based information, with the goal of helping you feel calm, prepared, and confident.

During your labor and birth, I will provide exactly the support that you need to help you feel at ease, confident, and loved. The support takes many forms depending on the birthing person (and the moment :) ) but could include massage, words of encouragement, counter pressure, providing water, nourishment, or cool compresses, sharing information, bearing witness and keeping calm.

Birth Doula services include:

  • complimentary initial consultation

  • two 2-hour prenatal visits

  • continuous support during labor, birth, and immediately postpartum

  • one 1-hour postpartum visit

  • unlimited communication via text, email, and/or phone from the moment our contract is signed

  • 24 hours per day availability beginning at 38 weeks and until your baby is born

I support families in all settings (hospital, home, birth center) regardless of mode (vaginal birth with or without medication, cesarean birth) in the greater Boston area (Metrowest, Central MA, North Shore, Boston).

I would love to learn if I'm the doula for you, or help you find someone who is. I look forward to meeting you!

About Me

My Path to Doula Work

The birth of my son (and later, my two daughters) was an amazing and powerful experience, made perfect by the support of my loving husband and calming sister. That life-changing, intense, and positive event inspired me to become a birth doula; to be a sister-like presence for other families, who shares in the trust of a mother’s intuition and patience for the process of birth.

My Family

I am mom to three fantastic kiddos and wife to a talented woodworker/cabinet maker and certified herbalist. We moved from Boston to our Acton home to enjoy a “quieter pace” in 2017. Life is chaotic - with play, work, and house projects abound - and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I couldn’t have been happier to see Becca - she was calm, generous, maternal, and immediately held my hand, locked eyes with me and breathed with me through a contraction. I needed her, and she was there- sitting with me, making eye contact, breathing, rubbing my back and head, helping my husband so I didn’t have to worry, talking to my parents and updating them….just outstanding in every way.
— A.R., from her first birth
Becca is warm and very accessible
— -M.T. from her first birth
Becca did not have an agenda to push, and heard what I hoped for / feared / worried about and translated it all into the emotional support I needed during my labor.
